Her Story
It all really began several years before the original first date at Salvador Molly's when Matt got a glimpse of the beauty camping in the Tillamook woods amongst the tall tall trees and good friends. At this time life would not allow the two lives to become intertwined. As it was, one was having relationship issues and the other had a huge fishing pound in Eugene from which to cast a reel. After a few years and a Seeley Christmas party, the two would have another chance to kindle the flame at Salvador Molly's. But once again life got in the way for another year. Neither skied or snowboarded at the same mountain and Matt did not drink beer at lunch. Go blah de Go Blah da for another ten months until the first annual Meg Seeley wine party. Balls grew and Matt got Ericka's phone number. It was a rocky beginning as the first date on their own consisted of the juke box repeating "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and an awful Adam Sandler movie "Punch Drunk Love." Never see it. Things smoothed out as they went to the beach for Amy's birthday. Ericka meets the parents and Matt got to first base...........The moral? Thank You Seeley's
His Story
I'll agree with some of that story, although this is how Matt remembers things going down.... When Matt first saw Ericka he was out 4 wheeling with some friends when they came upon a group of girls pillow fighting and carrying on like some sorority sleep over in the middle of the woods. Matt thought, "Sweet! I must capture this group of beauties and make them mine." It turns out girls don't like to be "captured" and so that day didn't work out for Matt.
Ericka and Matt had a few chance meetings as the years went by, but sometimes as similar as two people seem it just never works out. A few reasons Matt remembers, she is a snowboarder and he is a SKIER, she drinks beer in the middle of the day, she never threw her number at him, and finally he didn't understand why anyone wouldn't want to swim, bike, and run all day every day.
Matt was at a party one night "there might have been wine there, I don't remember" when he ran into Ericka again. Matt thought, "Tonight, I could make her mine." He decided that he should use a more conventional method to get close to her. So instead of "capturing" her, he walked over with his big purple hat with his lucky feather sticking out and said, "Yo baby, better hook me up with dem digits." And, so she did. (For all the old folks reading this, digits are a phone number.) Matt drove all the way to McMinnville for a date. They went to see a movie, and then they went to play some pool. That night went well, except Ericka didn't seem to like that fact that Matt put $10.00 worth of quarters in the jukebox to only play "Poor Some Sugar On Me". ----More to come
