Josephine Young State park is located on Siletz Bay where ocean and river mingle creating a dynamic and diverse, environment. Twice each day, Siletz Bay’s estuary is the stage for a slow, stately drama influenced by the moon, the sun, the wind, and the rain. Flowing channels, branching and winding across the broad sandflats, are filled with incoming ocean waters. As the bay fills, the rising tide spreads slowly across the Siletz Bay.
The park has easy beach access, restrooms, and picnic tables. We will be serving turkey and pig dogs. Please bring beverages to your liking.
Saturday
Ceremony: 5:00 at Gleneden State Park - Usually this time of year it is blazing sun. There is a rainy day back-up at Salishan Lodge. The ceremony is not on the beach but on a bluff over looking the ocean. The ground will be grass and slightly lumpy so wear shoes as you see fit. If it has been sunny for days on end then spiky heels can be worn. We will have snacks for the little ones.
Reception: At Salishan Lodge, cocktails following the ceremony, dinner at 6:45 with dancing to follow. See below for directions.
